March flew by! Probably because I was super busy in March. And now it’s already April. Spring is upon us! I’ve worn open-toed shoes already and a dress (sans tights) to work. (Okay, I was freezing my ass off in the morning, but it was worth it.) The birds are chirping, the cherry blossoms are going to be blooming soon and I get to run outside again! It’s amazing what breathing in the fresh air can do to lift a person’s mood. Let’s see what I did in March.
Little Peach by Peggy Kern: 3.5 Stars

March was the month of binge-reading for me. I finally binge-read the Lux series by JLA (Wendy was thrilled) and it was amazing! I actually kind of struggled through the first book, but after that I started to fall in love with it and then holy shit, it was so amazing!! I also binge-read another amazing series that I’ll get to in a minute. So total, I read and reviewed 17 books in March (including this other series I’ll talk about in a second). Holy crap! I was a reading machine last month! Wish I could keep that pace up all the time.
I started a new feature on the blog last month called Bird In a Fishbowl. It’s basically a place where I’ll talk about things I do that are out of my comfort zone. Books I read that are out of normal genres, if I ever go sky-diving, etc. And that’s where this other series that I binge read comes in. It’s called The Original Sinners by Tiffany Reisz and it is AMAZING. Seriously oh my gosh, so good. It’s erotica, which isn’t something I normally read, but I was in the mood for something steamy and Kelly rec’d them to me and OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS. I can’t say enough good things about them so just go read my post about it.
I also made a list of my top ten books for readers who like character driven stories and an epic list of upcoming 2015/2016 fantasy releases. And one of my favorites for the month…I talked about my ultimate #1 book boyfriend! Bet you can’t guess who it is…
I also told you guys how much I’ve been failing at my writing and how I’m participating in Camp Nano this month to help get myself back on track. By the way, it’s not going well so far. I think I’ve written like 2,000 words so far? Epic fail. Please encourage me. It’s still early in the month so I still have time to catch up. But on a positive note, I have been writing in the mornings even if it’s only a couple hundred words. So I think that’s a good thing. Better than nothing right?
In My Real Life:
It was my birthday in March! I wrote this post about 24 things I’ve learned over my 24 years of life. For my birthday, Phil took me on a shopping spree! Best present ever right? So we got up early and went to the mall and shopped all day. Then we went to dinner at my favorite place where I got filet tips in tequila lime sauce over penne pasta. This is literally the greatest thing I’ve ever eaten. Oh. My. Gosh. I could eat this all day, every day. After dinner we went home and skyped with my family and opened presents. It was a great day and thank you all for the birthday wishes!!
I also went to my cousin’s wedding at the end of the month up in North Jersey. It was really nice to be able to see my dad’s family. Wish my dad could have been there. But I got to see aunts and uncles that I haven’t seen since my own wedding. I also got to meet my cousin’s daughter who is the cutest thing ever. So they moved to England a couple years ago and she’s in school there now and she has the most adorable British accent! I wanted to take her home with me. We are trying to go visit them sometime this year!
I Am Her Revenge by Meredith Moore: April 7, 2015: This book sounds so creepy and weird and awesome. A girl who will get revenge for her mother – at a boarding school in England. Heck yes.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir: April 28, 2015: An ancient Rome like society with an elite academy. Sounds like it’s going to be brutal, twisty and awesome.
Rook by Sharon Cameron: April 28, 2015: About a future France that’s basically like the French Revolution. But prisoners are being rescued by a mysterious person who leaves a red-tipped rook feather in their cells.
The Remedy by Suzanne Young: April 21, 2015: A prequel to The Program which is a series where suicide is an epidemic. So excited to see how it all started!
Every Last Promise by Kristin Halbrook: April 21, 2015: A girl witnesses a sexual assault and has to decide whether to keep it a secret or speak up.
The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey: April 28, 2015: A magical world underneath New York City with people with feathers in their hair and magic in their veins.
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley: April 28, 2015: A magical city of ships in the sky. It’s like pirate ships among the clouds.
How was your March? Read any good books? Do anything fun? What April releases are you most excited for?
